Partner CDL School Focus: SAGE Truck Driving School

In this Article

SAGE Truck Driving School has been an industry leader since 1989. With locations across 12 states, they offer comprehensive CDL training and help students find employment after the program is completed.

Admissions

SAGE welcomes students from all walks of life to apply. Before applying, SAGE invites you to visit or call your local school to discuss programs and graduation requirements. Staff members will walk you through the entire application process.

In order to be admitted to SAGE Truck Driving Schools, applicants must possess a high school diploma, a GED, or an equivalent.

Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license, a driving record free of serious violations, and a copy of a physical examination on a DOT form. These forms are conveniently available at each school. If admitted to the program, students must be able to pass a drug test.

Student Review: “The director and her staff helped me get enrolled, worked with my crazy life schedule and [were] always very polite and always had a big bright smile on her face.” -- Mike A.

Career Services

SAGE’s Placement Assistant Advisors work with current and former students to find the right job for them. They help with all aspects of job hunting, from interview skills to deciding which job you should accept. Additionally, SAGE has good relationships with trucking companies like Werner, Swift, and Schneider. Recruiters from these companies frequently visit many of SAGE’s schools to discuss what jobs they are offering.

Student Review: “I really appreciate the school working with me and being flexible with my busy schedule. As long as you are sincerely putting in the effort to learn and not taking advantage, the school and trainers will work with you and get you to the point where you are comfortable in a semi. I have no doubt that if you choose to go to this school and put effort into learning, you will graduate.”-- James H.

Financial Aid

Howes has partnered with SAGE to offer the “Truckers of Tomorrow Scholarship”, offering $1,000 towards the cost of tuition. Additionally, SAGE endorses the Careers in Gear scholarship.

SAGE has relationships with credible lenders such as Climb Credit to help students secure reputable loans at a reasonable price.

In addition, SAGE is approved for Post 9-11 GI Bill® Funding, so veterans can receive an excellent CDL education with little to no out-of-pocket costs to them.

Because SAGE has multiple locations all over the country, each school has different options for financial aid and scholarships. It is recommended that students contact their local branch for more information and personalized tuition assistance.
